The first stage of the tour will bring
you to: The Blessington Lakes:
The Blessington Lakes are located in the
garden county of Ireland known as Wicklow. Set in the stunning
Wicklow Mountains, the Blessington Lakes cover over 500 acres
of water. The Lakes were formed 60 years ago by the building
of the Poulaphouca Dam and hydroelectric station and although
they are in fact a man-made reservoir they are as much part
of the landscape now as any of the natural lakes, lending
themselves to an idyllic and unspoiled wild landscape of Wicklow.
As well as the beautiful scenery and vistas to be enjoyed
in the Lakes area, the tour will provide you with the history
and folklore of the area and you will pass through the charming
local market town of Blessington itself. Upon leaving Blessington
you will be transported to: Russborough House.
Russborough House is a Palladian
mansion steeped in wonderful Irish history, built in the 1740s
by Joseph Leeson, a wealthy Dublin brewer, to designs by Richard
Castle. Russborough House offers one of the finest guided
tours in Ireland. From art lovers to historians to the curious
passer by our tour will leave you feeling fulfilled and inspired.

of the Lafranchini ceilings to a wonderful collection of world
